Adding Magic to board meetings

In Meeting Magic we like to practice what we preach. All our team meetings are well prepared, participants are involved in the preparation, and we have well defined OARRs. However, I recently found myself being rather bored in our board meeting!

The trouble with board meetings is they have formal compliance requirements that can end up driving the agenda. This can lead to a meeting with lots of formal box ticking, and data presenting, and an absence of meaningful conversation. I want my board meetings to deliver strategic insights, and decisions that will shape the direction of the business. This cannot be achieved by people presenting at each other.

So, we are giving our board meetings a face lift. It will be mandatory for participants to do pre reading and to come with insights, ideas and questions. I am confident that this will lead to a much more productive meeting.
