New Year resolutions

Here we are at the start of another year, a time when it is customary for people to make New Year resolutions, like ‘write my blog more frequently’:-)

I have been reading a book about leadership skills that talks about the huge amount of effort it takes for someone to develop a new behaviour. The book was advocating that leaders should think about what they should stop doing before thinking about new things they should start.

This got me thinking about how this concept could be applied to meetings. My personal view is that acceptance of poorly run meetings is the biggest barrier to productive meetings. So, here’s my offer to you…

Make a resolution to stop attending any meetings that are unproductive.

… we could start a revolution against time wasted in meetings. Imagine all the things we could do with all that free time 🙂
