Whilst I was in Singapore last week I met Andy Ridley, CEO of Earth Hour. Earth Hour is an organisation of only 6 people, who facilitate profound conservation projects around the world through crowd sourcing and crowd funding.
I was struck by many things that Andy talked about, in particular a connection with Meeting Magic in his belief in people power. I personally believe that harnessing the power in groups is the solution to most organisational situations. Many organisations say they want to do this, but few actually achieve this.
It was great to hear Andy talk about creating a brand that is owned by everyone, and the dilemmas of trust and control that posed to them. I think Andy and the Earth Hour team inspire everyday people to do extraordinary things. My notes from the conversation are in the graphic above.
